Laparoscopic Ovarian Cystectomy

It is possible to remove just the cystic structure from within the ovarian tissue and to do this laparoscopically. This leaves the ovarian tissue in place and functioning normally. If the ovarian cyst is extremely large, it may not be possible to separate the cyst wall from ovarian tissue, requiring ovary removal.

Laparoscopic Oophorectomy

Oophorectomy refers to removal of the ovary. Certain conditions of the ovary require removal. If the ovary is to be removed, it can be done through laparoscopic surgery.
